Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suspended fast bowler Mohammad Irfan for being involved in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) spot-fixing scandal.
Muhammad Irfan appeared before the Anti-Corruption Unit, on Tuesday, following, he was charge sheet.
Irfan, who played PSL 2nd edition from the Islamabad United was handed over the charge sheet for being involved in the Pakistan Super League spot-fixing scandal.
According to the charge sheet, Irfan has to reply to the charge sheet within 14 days of its issuance.
In a statement, Irfan said that he was mentally upset due to illness of his parents so he could not inform the board about the bookies who had made contacts with him for match-fixing.
The Anti-Corruption Unit has also called Shahzaib to appear before the ACU today.
Mohammad Irfan represented Islamabad United while Shahzaib played for Karachi Kings in the second PSL.
Islamabad United openers Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif have already been charged by the PCB for attempting to spot-fix a match, among other code-of-conduct breaches. The PCB has established a three-member tribunal to hear their cases later this month.
