The Supreme Court on Thursday gave an ultimatum to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s three children to respond to the notices served regarding the investigation of Panama Leaks.
In today’s hearing, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Awami Muslim League (AML) submitted their terms of references (ToRs) at the Supreme Court for a judicial commission to probe corruption allegations against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, stemming from revelations that his children owned offshore companies in the tax haven of the British Virgin Islands.
Nawaz Shari’s legal advisor Salman Safdar Butt also submitted his answers today; however, his children – also the main party in the case – failed to submit their responses.
Justice Azmat Saeed remarked “Maryam, Hussain and Hasan are not in the country.”“Actual parties in the case have not submitted their answers. You are wasting our time,”
The court denounced to give PM’s children a week’s time to submit their answers, upon the lawyer’s request.
“If the answers are submitted according to the law then the court will hold the charges confirmed,” said the court.
Adjourning the case hearing till November 7, the court ordered Maryam, Hussain, Hasan to submit their answers in the next hearing.
