Pakistan women conceded defeat in their inaugural match in the Super Six stage of the Women’s World Cup Qualifier against Sri Lanka on Wednesday at Nondescripts Cricket Club Ground, Colombo.
According to information received here, Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by five wickets.
Putting to bat first after losing the toss, Pakistan scored 212 due to half centuries from opener Nahida Khan (64) and Javeria Khan (63), who came on one-down position.
The pair shared a 119-run stand off 171 balls. Bismah Marood scored 20, while Nain Abidi made 17.
However; Pakistan lost a cluster of wickets in the end overs, and failed to put up a big total.
Inoka Ranaweera and Chamari Polgampola grabbed two wickets apiece. In reply, Sri Lanka chased the target with five wickets in hand and 14 balls to spare. (APP)
