Pakistan Protection Bill is due to be presented in National Assembly today (Wednesday), as Senate had already passed the bill unanimously with amendments on June 30.
According to parliamentary sources, the government and the opposition have agreed to approve the bill without any debate.
The bill provides for protection against waging of war or insurrection against Pakistan and prevention of acts threatening security of the country.
The law provides unusual powers to army and law-enforcing institutions for operations against those involved in terrorism, money extortion and other crimes.
