After a long gap of seven years, the federal government has decided to conduct a joint military parade on March 23 on occasion of Pakistan Day celebrations.
According to local news channel ” Samaa Tv”, venue has been decided for the joint military parade near Shakarparian in Islamabad.
Sources add that Prime Minister, President and all three services chiefs will attend the ceremony. Foreign diplomats and key political figures will also be invited to the parade.
The last parade was conducted in Islamabad in 2008.
During the PPP’s five-year term, military parade could not take place for a single time due to security reasons.
The joint military parade used to be a regular event with display of Pakistan’s military might and show of country’s culture.
