The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) has confirmed that contingents of Pakistan Army have reached the red zone and the soldiers have taken their positions
The ISPR in its statement said that Pakistan Army soldiers have taken their positions in the red zone in Islamabad, while military contingents have also reached the Shahrah-e-Dastoor, Sarena Chowk and Khayaban e Suharwardi.
It was further stated that these contingents were sent upon the request of the federal government.
According to sources, Police would be the first layer and the second security layer comprises of Rangers and FC (Frontier constabulary), while the soldiers of the Pakistan Army form the inner most security layer.
A control room has also been formed, from which the officials will be monitoring the entire situation, while the air-surveillance is also continued in the red zone through Pak-Army choppers.
Most of the military troops are posted at the diplomatic enclave and will remain inside sensitive installations.
The ISPR statement further said that Pak-Army personnel will not come outside and confront the protesters, they will remain inside at sensitive buildings and offices, ensuring in-depth security of the same.
