Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan lambasted political leaders remarks on the agencies failure and remarked that political leaders should have raised their voice against RAW and NDS, spy agencies of India and Afghanistan.
Addressing National Assembly today, the minister said terrorists knew that lawyers are going to assemble at Civil Hospital and they took an advantage.
Khan briefed the house that a crucial meeting presided over by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif continued for hours to discuss law and order in the country and the meeting will be held once again tomorrow.
Security improved since years in the country and it improved owing to effective action during last two and half years, he drew attention of the house toward his government’s performance.
Drawing a comparison with the past terroristic activities, he reinforced the security situation was tumbledown in past as five to six bombings usually took place on daily basis previously, adding, “2010 and 2009 were the worst years with regard to terrorism as even Islamabad was not immune to these terror occurrences.”
Pakistan always supported an alliance against terrorism and the government adopted path of consensus for peace in the country, he said pointing out that the premier decided to reach an agreement with the military leadership first of all.
It was the first time in Pakistan’s history that the government took decisions in complete concert with the military leadership, he observed.
“We have to subdue terrorism but this anti-terror operation can never bear fruits without support from the masses,” he asserted.
