On the 20th day of the anti-militant offensive, Operation Zarb-e-Azb, a Pakistani soldier was martyred while clearing anti-personnel landmines in Miranshah.
“After discovering a large number of landmines laid in the streets of the restive town, the troops started removing them one by one. Unfortunately, an explosive device blew up during ‘search & cleanup’ leaving Naik Fiaz martyred”, Director-General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Asim Bajwa told media.
Bajwa said that valorous sentinels of Pakistan were soldiering hard as well as fast to clear Miranshah of all kinds of explosives especially landmines.
“We salute Naik Fiaz for his bravery and his ultimate sacrifice”, said DG ISPR.
According to ISPR, the funeral prayers of Niak Fiaz Mohammad Shaheed were offered in Bannu.
His body has been sent to his native town Mansehra for burial.
