National Accountability Bureau (NAB) dropped all the investigations against federal finance minister Ishaq Dar.
The Executive Board of NAB, which was chaired by Qamar Zaman Chaudhry in which the decision was taken to drop all charges and inquiries pending against Dar as Commerce Minister since 2001.
In the meeting, NAB has also decided to file five corruption references against deferent persons.
A reference will be filed against Arshad Farooq Faheem and others for exorbitant and illegal increase in prices of drugs, causing a loss of about 693 million rupees to the national exchequer.
The second reference will be filed against former Balochistan food minister Asfand Yar Kakar for alleged embezzlement in government wheat amounting to about 467 million rupees.
Other references will be filed against former mayor Gujranwala Municipal Corporation Muhammad Aslam Butt, Vice Chancellor Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan Dr. Ihsan Ali and others, and former Additional Secretary Senate Syed Musarrat Abbas and others.
The Bureau also authorized inquiry against former MNA Shafqat Shah Shirazi and former MPA Ejaz Shah Shirazi of Thatta for alleged accumulation of assets beyond known sources of income. Another inquiry was authorized against Sindh Minister for Ushr and Zakat Dost Mohammad Rahimoon on similar charges.
