The Sindh High Court on Tuesday resumed hearing of former president Pervez Musharraf’s petition seeking removal of his name from government’s Exit Control List (ECL).
Attorney General (AG) Salman Aslam Butt appeared before a two-member bench and said in his arguments that the former military chief could not be allowed to leave Pakistan since his presence in the country is necessary for treason case proceedings.
He said the orders to put Musharraf on ECL were issued by the Supreme of Court; therefore, travel ban on the accused could not be lifted unless the apex court changed its ruling.
