Karachi Rangers have arrested four suspects on Saturday who were allegedly planning a terror attack on Youm-e-Ali occasion in the city.
The arrests were made in two separate raids in Baldia Town and Orangi Town of the metropolis.
According to the Rangers spokesperson, the suspects intended to carry out a suicide attack on Youm-e-Ali procession. The alleged terrorists were said to be affiliated with the banned outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ).
Huge cache of arms and ammunition besides explosive material were seized in the two raids. However, the details pertaining to the identification of suspects could not be ascertained immediately.
