A federal anti-corruption court on Tuesday granted bail to former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani in 12 corruption cases. Gilani appeared before the court today to submit his bail plea. A huge number of his supporters were gathered outside the court, while a few Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders accompanied him to the judge’s chamber.
The former prime minister has been accused of corruption worth millions of rupees.
During the hearing today, Gilani – who served as prime minister from 2008 to 2012 – argued that he was wrongly accused in false corruption cases.
