Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Arif Alvi and Imran Ismail have been arrested on Monday while they were going to Bani Gala—the residence of Imran Khan.
Talking to workers earlier, the duo said they have brought food for the protesters who are staying at Bani Gala to attend Islamabad Lockdown on November 2.
Pushing and pulling both of them, Islamabad police hustled the leaders into police van and whisked them away.
It should be mentioned here that the both the leaders spearheaded Karachi protest after PTI workers including women were mishandled and put behind bars on October 27 for allegedly violating Section-144 as they were attending the party’s Youth Convention.
Arif Alvi said he was told that he was being shifted to Secretariat police station.
On board police van, he called upon the party workers not to despair, push ahead, and attend Islamabad Lockdown with zest, adding he does not hope to be released anytime soon but it does not make any difference if some thousands workers are put in jails.
