The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has taken the custody of Hammad Siddiqui, the prime suspect in the Baldia factory fire case, from UAE authorities.
According to details, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has handed over Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Hammad Siddiqui, accused in the 2012 Baldia Town factory fire, to Pakistani authorities.
Hammad Siddiqui was wanted by Pakistan in the Baldia factory fire case, in which more than 200 people had burned to death.
One of the key suspect, Abdul Rahman alias Bhola, had revealed that the MQM leader instructed him to set fire to the factory in the vicinity of Baldia Town Karachi because of non-payment of Rs.250 million ‘bhatta’.
Interpol had apprehended Siddiqui in October from a Sheesha cafe.
Hammad Siddiqui will be brought back to Pakistan today.
