The federal government has issued an advisory regarding tagging and uploading of pictures on the social media.
“It has come to notice that a lot of people visiting or living at sensitive areas tend to tag their location and upload pictures on social media or Google maps. This creates a serious security concerned as it can expose sensitive locations on internet,” said an advisory issued by National Telecom & IT Security Board.
The government has advised people to avoid marking sensitive areas on maps, urging them to turn off Wifi, mobile internet and GPS while visiting a sensitive location.
