The country’s exports witnessed a marginal decline in May 2014 from a year ago, despite having preferential access to the European market.
The export proceeds fell to $2.117 billion in the month under review compared to $2.143bn in the same month last year, reflecting a decline of 1.21 per cent, showed Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) data on Thursday.
This is the second consecutive month in which exports witnessed a negative growth. In April 2014, the exports proceeds dropped by over 20pc from a year ago.
