Islamabad: Secretary Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Babar Yaqoob has said that the environment has so far remained largely peaceful in the second phase of the local government elections currently underway in Punjab and Sindh provinces.
The ECP Secretary said that the commission will take immediate action if any complaint is received regarding law and order situation in any constituency.
Polling began at 7:30am on Thursday morning and is expected to continue uninterrupted until 5:30pm. Over 20 million voters are expected to exercise their right to franchise in 26 districts of Sindh and Punjab in the second phase of the LG elections.
