The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has rejected the registration of the newly formed Pak Sarzameen Party, led by former Karachi mayor Syed Mustafa Kamal, calling their application incomplete.
ECP official claim that the application does not comply by the rules put down by the Party Registration Act. The application neither states the party agenda nor its manifesto.
The application declares that the party will generate income from funds, an ECP official said on the condition of anonymity.
The official further said that the application also does not declare the party assets or details of its members.
Sources said that Kamal mentions himself as party chairman in the application.
The ECP has written a letter to Kamal demanding him to reapply for registration.
