President Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Abdullah Zaki, has suggested that 17 percent General Sales Tax (GST) be brought down to a single digit in the fiscal year budget ‘2014-15′. Speaking at a reception hosted by the KCCI in honour of print and electronic media persons, he said that the chamber recently organised first All-Pakistan Chambers’ Pre budget Conference in Karachi to discuss some of the most pressing issues being faced by the business community of the country and to come up with recommendations.
He said that the chamber has forwarded joint budget proposal to Federal Finance Minister and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for their consideration and inclusion in the budget.
