Member, National Assembly (MNA) Marvi Memon earlier yesterday vowed to make the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) more effective for uplift and welfare of downtrodden segments of the society, especially women.
Ms Memon, who has been appointed as Chairperson BISP, said she would make all out efforts to serve the needy according to the vision and manifesto of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN).
Talking to state-run Pakistan Television, she thanked Prime Minister, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for reposing confidence in her and expressed a strong commitment to live up to the expectations of party leadership.
Earlier, President Mamnoon Hussain, on the advice of Prime Minister, yesterday approved her appointment.
