Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will chair a meeting of senior party leaders today to at Bilawal Bhutto to discuss the prevailing political situation of the country.
According to PPP media cell, the party leaders will discuss the political situation ahead of the PTI protest and announced lockdown of Islamabad on November 2.
The party will also discussed the government crackdown on PTI protesters in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
The leader of opposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah, former prime ministers Yousuf Raza Gillani, Raja Pervez Ashraf and other senior party leaders will attend the meeting.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in his recent tweet has termed the people involved in ‘crackdown’ and ‘lockdown’ as clowns.
On Friday PPP Senator Taj Haider under Article 54(3) of the constitution with signatures of 28 PPP senators submitted requisition to summon the Senate session to discuss the police crackdown on PTI workers.
The PPP wanted to discuss the crackdown on political workers in violation of fundamental rights, intended closure of Islamabad and the violation of orders of Islamabad High Court on 27 October by the government.
Sources said that despite the differences with the PTI, the PPP would raise the issue of arrests and use of force against the workers.
