Lahore: At least three people were killed and three others injured on Thursday during an incident of firing at a bank in Lahore.
According to police and rescue officials, Abdullah, entered Bank of Punjab, Allama Iqbal Town Branch and opened indiscriminate fire on the staff.
The firing left three staffers dead. The victims were bank manager Nasir, a security guard Khalid and a cashier Sohail.
Three other bank staff members were critically wounded. They were identified as Muhammad Hassan, Sikandar and a female staffer, Sobia.
Soon after the incident, police arrived at the bank, arresting the alleged attacker and seizing CCTV footage of bank surveillance cameras.
The attacker was injured when one of the bank security guards retaliated, police said, adding that the incident seemed to be the result of personal rivalry as no cash was looted from the bank.
Police said the attacker was as cashier in a local college. Further investigations were underway.
