Former Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice (retd) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, earlier today said that there was already no ban on implementing capital punishment in the country.
Talking to media outside Lady Reading Hospital after enquiring about the health of the children injured in the Peshawar school attack, the ex-CJP said an ordinance issued in the tenure of PPP-led government had already expired.
“There was already no ban on death penalty in Pakistan, so it’s the responsibility of the government to ensure early implementation of capital punishment,” he said.
