Karachi: A meeting of specialists was held at the DG Ports and Shipping office today to find a solution for creating artificial rain in Karachi.
Met Office, Plant Production Department, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the business community, and representatives of the district administration were part of the high level meeting.
In the meeting, artificial rain specialists said that ‘sodium chloride’ is sprayed on clouds which are at a height of 2000 to 4000 feet, it would help creates rain after three hours.
Plant Production Department aircraft and Army aviation aircraft would be used to spray the sodium chloride on the clouds, the participants were informed. In 2000, same method was adopted and it was successful for Thar areas.
