American Angela Stanford has propelled herself to the top of the Lotte Championship leaderboard after a superb second round of 64 took her to eight-under in Hawaii.
She is one of three Americans firmly in contention at the halfway stage, with Michelle Wie’s 67 on Friday good enough to leave her second on seven-under and Cristie Kerr (66) one of four players a shot behind.
South Korean trio Hyo Joo Kim, So Yeun Ryo and Se Ri Pak had led the tournament after first round scores of 68.
