Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi participated in a 10 over exhibition cricket match for the people displaced by the Zarb-e-Azb military offensive in North Waziristan.
The match was contested between Shahid Afridi XI and Pakistan Army. Thousands of spectators had gathered to watch the match between the two sides.
Afridi brought smiles to the crowd by displaying his batting skills. He was dismissed after scoring 45 runs for his team.
Director General of Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR) Major General Asim Bajwa said that national heroes want to stand shoulder to shoulder with the displaced persons whereas many people want to give donations to help the affected persons.
Besides raising money for rehabilitation of IDPs, the rare friendly match provided locals and IDPs a chance of entertainment and recreation.
