“Asian governments must make tough choices in energy investments that can provide affordable energy while meeting environmental objectives, especially on climate change”, said an ADB study yesterday.
Although some trade-offs are inevitable, these can be reduced by reforms to energy pricing, technological innovation, and access to financing for environmentally sustainable growth, according to the study carried out by ADB’s independent evaluation department.
ADB forecasts that developing Asia’s share of global energy consumption would remain higher than its share of the global economy.
