Floodwater abraded protective dyke of Nullah Dek in Sialkot on Sunday.
According to sources, more than 50 villages were flooded as heavy rain in different cities of Punjab, forced thousands of people left their homes to in search of safer places.
The breach in the dyke exposed tall claims made by the administration which had claimed to have spent Rs.120 million over the embankment.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain-thundershower at isolated places in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore divisions, Islamabad, Malakand, Hazara, Kalat divisions, upper FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during the next 24 hours.
DCO Multan, Zahid Saleem Gondal, has said that there could be flood as the water level in river Chenab was on rise continuously.
