The Punjab government has taken a lead in implementing the National Action Plan (NAP) to eliminate terrorism in the province.
According to details, Punjab Police have arrested a large number of accused involved in misusing loudspeakers, making provocative speeches and possessing hate material.
The Punjab Police had made all these arrests during a crackdown and also confiscated a large number of books, pamphlets, banners, newspapers, memory cards, DVDs, CDs, USBs, booklets and computers from various districts.
According to available data, as many as 593 cases have been registered for misusing loudspeakers and 297 arrests have so far been made in the province.
Upto 16 cases have been registered for provocative speeches while 130 people have been arrested. Similarly, 25 persons have been arrested on charges of wall chalking. – APP
