Eleven people were killed in Bangui on Friday, the capital of the Central African Republic, when a grenade exploded at a funeral, said the Red Cross. The United Nations Children’s Fund said that three of the dead were children. Thousands of people have been killed in communal violence since last year.The interim government and about 8,000 peacekeepers sent by France and the African Union have so far been unable to halt the violence.
