Intelligence agencies warned that miscreants belonging to a proscribed outfit were planning to carry out terror attacks in Lahore.
According to sources, intelligence agencies provided a list of 100 suspects present in the Punjab capital to the city police chief.
Sources add that police have rounded up some suspects following the intelligence reports.
On Thursday, Punjab Home Minister Shuja Khanzada said that a ‘red alert’ was issued across the province in the wake of the terror threats.
“Based on intelligence reports, we will launch an operation against terrorists,” he said.
“Special measures have been taken to protect key installations, airports, public places, civil and military officials,” added Khanzada.
